You don't want to work so hard to lose weight just to have that weight loss come from muscle rather than fat. If this happens you could lose body weight without actually improving the look or shape of your body. So make sure that you find some type of resistance training that you enjoy and your weight loss will speed up. Your actual bodyweight doesn't matter as much as your percentage of fat. This is why resistance training is so important while losing weight.

Muscle needs protein in order to grow so any weight loss plan must include lean protein. Remember protein builds muscle, muscle mass increases your metabolism and a higher metabolism burns more fat.
